At the Rainbow Bridge, all the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor, just as we remember them in our dreams.http://nyer.cm/mdCwHW4

I withdrew my "like". It's obvious the author dislikes cats greatly. Like religion or the music of Chopin provides comfort to those who have lost cherished pets, why mock it? It's just mean-spirited, period. New Yorker, did you actually pay the writer for that drivel? 😾

⚠️Yes, this article @NewYorker is offensive! It is obviously written by a mean-spirited selfish person who hates #cats 😟 Why so cruelly make fun of the Rainbow Bridge story? #catsarefamily #catsarelovepic.twitter.com/9y1r8JIjWg

THIS ARTICLE IS ATROCIOUS THIS WRITER, IS NO WRITER AT ALL, THE MAN IS AN IDIOT WHO WOULD HIRE, LET ALONE PAY SOMEONE THAT HAS NO INSIGHT INTO ANIMALS, CATS ESPECIALLY. HE IS COMPLETELY IGNORANT, & STATING THAT HE KNOWS WHAT IS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF DEATH IS AN INSULT TO ANYONE.

CLEARLY THIS WRITER THINKS THAT HE CAN WRITE, HAS AN EGO SO LARGE THAT HIS HEAD DOES NOT FIT IN ANY DOOR, ANYWHERE. HE IS NOT HUMOROUS, UNLESS YOU ARE ABOUT 3 YEARS OLD. STOP WRITIING PLEASE, THIS IS NOT THE VOCATION FOR YOU.

Um, my beloved 17-year-old cat died and someone sent me the poem and I thought I would honor the memory of Felix with an affectionate spin based on his quirks? Anyway, sorry you didn’t like it!

Really sorry about your loss. I didn't get it, I guess. The piece seemed to paint cats as mean and uncaring wheras my experience has been completely opposite.

Totally get it – my cat was great and affectionate and also cranky and unpredictable... and there’s no way he’d be hanging out in a field with a bunch of other pets. I wanted to memorialize him as he was, which some people are viewing as anti-cat. It’s actually very pro-my cat.

No. My house never smelled like ammonia, because, well, I took care of maintenance duties and didn't sit, lazy and angry, that my 14lb feline had things to do. Fyi, human crap and piss is much worse.

Our cat is dying and we were discussing if today is the day he wanders across The Raibow Bridge. Then this piece pops up. Have you infiltrated my search browser? Thanks a ton for this. Needed the laugh.
