Ultimately, the conservative takeover of America’s courts hinged on ruthless power politics: the G.O.P. exploiting its unearned advantage in the Electoral College, the U.S. Senate, and the Supreme Court itself. http://nyer.cm/YHQfLxE pic.twitter.com/cd8RhyHNJQ

Some takeaways: between 2012 and 2016 Democratic candidates for Congress received 122 million votes. Republicans got 105 million votes. Republicans have controlled the Senate since 2014.

From the story: There is "no majority of voters clamoring for a ban on abortion, restrictions on collective bargaining...or the purging from the electoral rolls of voters who skip a couple of elections."

The @GOP has carefully exploited the shortcomings and biases in our political system. It is "an outrageous power grab by a radicalized political party, its wealthy backers, and a rogue president."

Uh, excuse me. But so many of the upper level courts are stacked with NON-Conservatives. The GOP abides appropriately by the rules of the Electoral College. Those GOP Senators were ELECTED by their constituents. Such demagoguery. Your magazine is part of THE MSM SWAMP. Hands down

More than roll back women’s rights, workers’ rights, civil rights, the SCOTUS pick will turn politics upside down and it will be very theatrical.

The electoral college is a travesty and produces the EXACT OPPOSITE of representative democracy. If EVs were allocated by population - 28 states & DC lose EVs, 12 states gain, 11 states stay same. So as it stands, citizens of 70% of states are currently over/under counted.pic.twitter.com/KkLsqx5gaE

I don't even know where to start. The Senate and Electoral College were purposeful parts of our founding so that we would not be a democracy. We are a representative republic. Our founders despised democracy. Two wolves and a sheep deciding on dinner, and what not.

,,notice how the libs are at war with the constitution. They hate the Electoral College, they hate law and order, they hate government itself ... as long as immigrant voters stay on the highly populated coasts, they will still fail to win federal elections..
