As the Democratic Party prepares for the midterms and the 2020 Presidential election, it should pay close attention to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s explicitly populist, anti-establishment campaign: http://nyer.cm/WGd4Dxb pic.twitter.com/JmxmjsghiX

Still no one asks what type of Socialist she is Soviet era, Cuban Reformer, Red Chinaman or quasi Capitalist and she or hasn't been explained that Socialism has murdered and oppressed millions as a failed ideology. According to Socialism she is willing to jail oppress and murder

Y'all are making way, WAY too much out of an 11% turnout Democratic primary in a solidly blue district that went +29% for Hillary in 2016. AOC ran a great campaign, but is starting to believe the worst of her own press & has put her Justice Dem proclivities on blast. Bad move.

Her campaign was exactly what one should be - directed to the needs of residents in her constituency just like Conor Lamb, Doug Jones & Ralph Northam. If she gets to DC, the trick will be blending those needs w/ the rest of the country. We have forgotten that is government.

Well if she and others keep talking about abolishing ICE, they'll hand the GOP the midterms.

The press like to over-analyze the various Dem factions. GOP manages fine despite a larger gap. The wings of the Democrats are not far away and have similar principles. People want feisty, authentic people that live in their district that have a spine.

Lessons should be to fight the Trump destruction, eliminate even soft corruption to moneyed interests, and call it like it is. Actual policy positions are over-rated in this environment as long as all Dems stand for basic principles.

And I do not see this behavior from Leadership. They take the $'s and are overly calculated in their rhetoric. I know that they are not in power, but people are looking for fighters. We need that in this new era.

Democrats must support + elect younger, dynamic brilliant, leadership. EXPOSE corrupt, mercenary, illicit, Anti-Democratic Trump, Republican CORRUPTION + fascist rule. Impeach autocratic, unAmerican Trump + Pence now. Trump is dictator Putin’s puppet, NOT our President.

The Populism is great, and overdue. It's what got Trump elected. The specifics will get the Democrats killed. Ms. Occasio-Cortez's 'Populism' ends at the Manhattan city line.
