In other cities, mayors tend to be heavily involved in mass transit, even hysterical about its deficiencies. Not in New York. Andy Byford, the new president of the New York City Transit Authority, has not heard from Bill de Blasio since his arrival: http://nyer.cm/NjoC788 pic.twitter.com/3Y7EEBaGDw

De Blasio is too busy ensuring that the city's best schools are accessible to anyone in the top 100% of the city's collective student body.

Saying the NYC subway is "great" is proof that you do not regularly commute to work or to soccer or futbol games using NYC subways. Inform yourself please before you tweet.

Four billion for train station. 750 million train station one world trade became 1.5 billion. Need to claw back 3 billion from port authority & councilmen for neglected subway maintenance.

That’s the quote you choose to highlight? How about Giuliani diverting $400million from the MTA budget his first year as mayor, or Cuomo continuing to raid the funds for his pet projects? NYers know the State govt has control of the MTA, not the mayor.

.@NYCMayor rides a world class, air polluting SUV around the safest parts of the city. Why should he care about the mass transit that working class New Yorkers use?
