You cannot spit in the plates and then demand your dinner. The best way to receive civility at night is to not assault it all day long. It’s the simple wisdom of the table. http://nyer.cm/QpJSa97

This is actually the stronger point: "…fundamental to, and governing the practice of, civility is the principle of reciprocity: your place at my table implies my place at yours." SRS is part of an admin that seeks to exclude; reciprocity demands they be excluded as well.

Everyday this magazine proves that it can make a more ridiculous statement than the day before. Kudos.

For a moment I thought this article was actually fair and sane, then I kept reading. @NewYorker So if you deem someone is a hateful liar then all bets are off. Never mind getting the facts firsthand & assuming the best of others. For the left "decency" = demonizing the right.

Should an American be denied service at any establishment because his or her opinions do not align with your own? Should we then place a star on said individuals or a certain mark and not allow them to purchase Goods? Careful What You Preach

So do you believe it’s fine, that a baker in your Country can refuse service to a gay couple?

I believe in someone having the right to refuse service to anyone I personally wouldn't. I will take anyone's cash. These are slippery slopes that concern me is all. Will we one day have rep and dem stores? Separate but equal? It's a dangerous precedent.

Anyone working for The New Yorker should be denied service at all public accommodations because of their reprehensible publicly stated beliefs. They should be treated like social pariahs, ostracized and shunned.
