Barring an unexpected change, the Donald J. Trump Foundation will be defending itself in a New York courtroom shortly before this fall’s midterm elections. The proceedings seem unlikely to go well for the institution and its leadership.http://nyer.cm/OCg7GpS

Worse awaits him, when full extent of crimes become known: "When the war was over and the Germans were expelled from France, the Nazi collaborators were the first to be prosecuted and punished for their crimes against the French nation."

They were just given the issues a short time ago, so there may yet be federal charge. But frankly, I would rather have it in state court. That way, there is no option of Trump interfering in the case, or trying to issue pardons. It would also unlikely to be appealed to SCOTUS.

If the fines are large enough, they could work as a deterrent. It would also signal such behavior is not socially acceptable. Trump has legitimized "joking".

Ah, yes... the valuable degrees he awarded. The money for charity that went for huge portraits of him as well as legal fees. He once tried to conflate his foundation with the Clinton’s. Shameless effrontery. Ugh.

Hiding behind a foundation to bring in tax-free money to pay business expenses seems to me to be a form of money laundering. Yes? No? Go to bed!
