"This boy seemed devastated—quiet and withdrawn. He barely spoke. I asked if he needed a hug. I kneeled down in front of the recliner, and this kid just threw himself into my arms and didn’t let go. He cried and I cried."http://nyer.cm/qNb8eNM

The idea that an 8 y/o child's reunification with his parents is being withheld because he is "behaving badly" when the child is clearly in severe emotional distress- is catastrophically wrong & damaging. Sadly this is a common assumption made by people w/o clinical training.

Exactly what happens when you view others as vermin, infesting our country. I am heartbroken that anyone, let alone someone acting on my behalf, could treat any child so. Our children will be ashamed we allowed this cruelty to happen, for tax cuts & jobs they don’t take from us.

This is conscious cruelty beyond belief in a so called "civilised" society. This is inhumane and wrong.

Go to almost any street in Urban America and hug a hungry homeless American..stop this constant petty hatred ...its not sympathy for the illegal children its retaliation against anything conservative...so pathetic

It is possible to feel something for BOTH American children and children from other countries. Children are children. To intentional hurt them is worthy of hate, regardless of your political beliefs. This is about being a compassionate human being with a moral compass.

That you refer to asylum-seekers as illegals is political.

They are illegal aliens...criminals sneaking into our country. If they were seeking asylum they would go to one of our entry ports. Americans First. Take care of our people. Our elderly, our Homeless, our disabled, then worry about others.

I would answer her by saying that the GOP stole the money. The rich wanted it, and the Grand ‘Ole Party handed it over. See:SNAP benefits, education funding, $1.5T “tax bill”, etc. American kids going hungry is on the R’s.

TRUMP, the GOP and Trump supporters are ALL responsible for this. They were cheering for Trump the past few days at his rallies when he spoke about this policy. They COULDN’T CARE LESS about these kids. Laura Ingrahmn called them “Summer Camps.”
