Senator Jeff Merkley said he considers Trump a “fear” candidate from a Party that had learned to run what he called the “three-terrors strategy”: pick three issues that scare the American public, and emphasize them at all costs. http://nyer.cm/XFAMwEf pic.twitter.com/9eF70uRyuU

So true. It's because the @GOP has nothing. Just funneling money better used for the public good into the pockets of people who don't need it but are bottomless pits of soulless greed.

Sen. Merkley hasn't gotten near the credit he deserves for exposing the family separation debacle. He was the first to stand up, holler and LEAD.

This just in: There are actually things that we need to be damned concerned about. This is not a bug; it's a feature. Meanwhile, I guess we're supposed to ignore all the melodramatic squealing on the Left, because they're all about logic and calm repose.

Riddle me this batman: why do republicans reject an immigration bill with 46 billion in border security? Why didn't Boehner bring gang of 8 to a vote in 13 with 46 billion on border security funding and visa lottery fix?

No idea. If Boehner was in on it it has nothing to do with conservatism. Tracking congressional votes is silly; they set it up so there are so many steps in the process, everybody seems to vote for everything and nothing. It's just about building a narrative.

Sadly, this strategy is now worldwide amongst conservative, right-wing political establishment. And it's a well tuned, well practiced one that was used 100 years ago
