South Korea would not even be around if the US had not got involved when the North Korean's invaded in 1950. If nothing else, remember that.

American involvement was actually UN involvement. The North Koreans had invaded South Korea. This was not Vietnam.

I am terribly late to this party, but this was very interesting. Although I fear the emotional benefits the summit provided to SK may lead to larger problems down the road if NK only uses the meeting to curry favor while cementing it’s status as a nuclear superpower.
