"No one, least of all Kissinger, could have missed her point: You and I were the same as each other, the same as the Syrians. I have not forgotten. Have you?" George Packer recalls a story Dr. Ruth told Henry Kissinger about being a refugee.http://nyer.cm/EYUAOCL

Knowing what we know now about the people Dr. Ruth and Kissinger became as adults, if I could have only saved one, it would have been the little girl known as Karola Ruth Siegel.

Separating families at the border is a Trump policy.

Don't cross the border ILLEGALLY, period! We have laws for a reason & It's not our responsibility to take care of ILLEGALS. Families of legal citizens are separated every day whether it be by incarceration or a child being removed to foster care.

They are not even giving REAL reasons for needing asylum. I live in San Diego, so I most certainly see the effects of having an open borders, crime by illegals including involvement in the recent sex trafficking bust out here.

I'll try this again. Seeking asylum in isn't illegal. Separating families is inhumane. Have a nice day!

Families are separated EVERYDAY here in America. You are talking to a former foster youth. So don't talk to me about what is inhumane. This is political & we DO NOT want to take care of them. You give them asylum if it's an issue for you. Stay blessed.

Because you were in foster care means I have no right to tell you that separating families inhumane? Excuse me but that's warped thinking. Be well

Kissinger was a great friend and admirer of Lee Kwan Yew. There’s a moving sight of him crying at his funeral reaching out for Lee Hsien Loong’s hand. I always remember my dad talking about the relationship of those two men.
