By a vote of 5–4, the Justices upheld Ohio’s purge of less-frequent voters from its rolls. That ruling is bad enough, but what makes Justice Alito’s opinion so chilling is the way that it invites other states to continue this anti-democratic practice.http://nyer.cm/toyDZEW

I’m going glass half-full on this. Word will get out that voting is more or less mandatory. Also known as the Law of Unintended Consequences.

The country doesn't demand much of citizens. How hard is it to vote with enough frequency to remain on the voting rolls?

My family is mainly democratic and always vote. For generations we were brought up in the inner-city to understand the importance of "always" voting. Those who don't really don't seem to care and should not have the right to vote, and I am a democrat!

This decision is not for America, its for the wealthy benefactors of the GOP. Its time to end that business, and end the influence in the @Scotus . Either they work for America or they take a walk

Terrible headline! #fakenews all the way! If you can’t respond in 6 years to a request to verify who you are, then you certainly can’t vote. It’s nothing non-democratic about it!!!

No education, no reason to vote. No reason to vote, no inscription. No inscription and no education, no idea how to get on the list. This is bitterly undemocratic.

if they arent voting and still on the books, their identity can be used for voter fraud, so if ppl are upset they should vote more and re-register to keep current

The lesson is clear: Everyone vote ALL THE TIME. Don't miss an election! Particularly if you're among the group of people these assholes are trying to purge.

Haha the Democratic Party bread and butter is using fake votes such as the ones that blocked! I know this because I personally whitnessed it in the past, this is a fact. They are crooks.

Speak the truth, it will keep more democrats from voting in many different states. They collect welfare in many other states and state workers are too lazy to follow up, so if they screw welfare systems in other states????

There is ample opportunity for all eligible voters to update their status as required in order to ensure their continuing voter eligibility. Their excuses are a ruse!

A baby, sick parent, work, military responsiblities, transportation are all reasons for not in every election voting. This is a horrible decision in a democracy.
