The flat Earth is the post-truth landscape. As a group, its residents view themselves as staunch empiricists, their eyes wide open. The truth, they say, can be grasped in experiments that anyone can do at home: http://nyer.cm/Vcz9hJc pic.twitter.com/UVJ0IY2QLS

My favorite "proof" that it's not flat is that cats would have knocked everything off it by now.

It’s true that the truth about the shape of the earth can be grasped by experiments (and research) that can be done at home. However, the flat-earth crowd is doing fallacious experiments and zero academic research.

Lol nope. But seeing a publication like the New Yorker push this moronic story, that deserves no attention, makes me want to get my news/information elsewhere

I don’t know, that article paints them as such, which is better than most publications that have done a piece on it do, and they do it by quoting the person, which is great.

Why even make it a story? Any sane person knows these people are uneducated.
