Because “Star Wars” is so self-consciously mythic, “Solo”—which stars Alden Ehrenreich as a young Han Solo—is especially vulnerable to seeming like a simulacrum of a simulacrum: http://nyer.cm/GK98mgM pic.twitter.com/bNQ4GalEAX

It seems to me @NewYorker movie reviews go out of their way to be as pompous and ostentatious as possible. I’ve seen Solo its a great Star Wars movie, its fun as hell and possibly contains the biggest piece of information in this era of Star Wars films.

High expectations. Star Wars fatigue. Released opposite Deadpool 2 and Avengers 3. All excuses, this movie failed because it tries too hard to push forward agenda and not being a film about space pirates. All the doofs involved tried to condescending fans instead of reflection.
