Mistakes were made—by the Trumps, of course, and by Samantha Bee, for naïvely imagining that this narrative would not orient itself around her word choice the moment she let the “C” flag fly. http://nyer.cm/j1uEjv9

That people are more freaked out by a word @iamsambee used than about the inhumane policies of this train wreck of @realDonaldTrump administration. We need to get our priorities straight.

Her use of the nasty c-word was clearly a calculated ploy to try and regain some relevance. Can we please get back to reporting on important stuff? Like DEATH IN PUERTO RICO? Or FOREIGN INFLUENCE ON OUR ELECTIONS?

Obviously you've never heard Derek and Clive, who used the word like "and" way back in the 1970s. She is a COMEDIAN

@iamsambee Samantha Bee to be fired. She has erased miles of what the #metoo movement @MeTooMVMT has fought hard to combat harassment towards women. And for a woman to degrade another woman is equally as bad as if a man did it.

So, you’re saying that it’s okay & justified that Samantha Bee called Ivanka that word? Wow!!! Then you’re okay with anyone calling any woman that word when they don’t agree on any topic. You’re a hypocrite & a vile, disgusting person. That word should never be used, by anyone.

Just making an observation. You’re the one subscribing intentions to it. Perhaps you need to create that strawman to produce a coherent argument on this matter. Let me point you here instead and then perhaps you can tell me how you reacted when you saw these.pic.twitter.com/EUpf5xKce4

First of all, no one can control another, unless they are a slave. Secondly, Samantha Bee is a very well known public figure in national television, and a woman, who knows better then to use that word. Thirdly, if you support her, you’re part of the problem. #metoo

Spin it all you want @NewYorker, this word is sexist, degrading, and demeaning to all women. It has been used by mean to keep us down. Trying to have women "own" it, is like having African Americans "own" n**ger. We all know exactly its intent and purpose. Racist, sexist...

Yes, by all means lets parse and explain that it’s really okay. The word itself is not what turns stomachs, it’s the self-righteousness.
