Thank you for your article. A few things; that title is misleading. K-pop didn't make it to no. 1 in America. BTS did. To use K-pop in the title is to make it seem the genre as a whole and other groups had anything to do with it. And this is not the case (CONT.)
-
Second you mention the word 'young' to refer to ARMY more than once, which is also misleading. ARMY is composed of BOTH women and men of all ages, a large portion being on their late 20s/early 30s and more. Let's avoid this already wrong idea that we are crazy teens (CONT.)
-
Third, you mention that they avoid political songs when it's the opposite. In addition, the part when you mention that "they believe that it's irresponsible to foist complicated ideas onto kids" is confusing (CONT.)
-
They talk about deep and complicated matters that are usually avoided by others. There are (very few) okay parts in this article and I appreciate those, but I don't think it accurately explains the reasons why BTS (not K-pop) made it to no.1 in America and it is full of mistakes
-
Again, as with the another bad article, I am being very nice in the way I provide my feedback. Please, improve for next time
-
You are awesome. I am so happy to have you as ARMY like me

Thank u for your feedback
@naaadmd
With a lot of published articles coming out about BTS I've become picky with what I want to share on my TL. I first check out the replies then I decide.

Here's a good example of an article about BTS:https://twitter.com/RollingStone/status/1001523922897178624?s=19 …

Please at least try to do some research next time.

If you had used more than one source or take even 5 minutes to look into their discography, you’d know that “the band often avoids politival topics” is outstandingly false. Suga meant that they have tackle political topics carefully, but NOT avoid it.
-
In fact, its hilariously the opposite. It’s actually what sets them apart. Other sources: https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/k-town/7966116/bts-socially-conscious-woke-songs-go-go-list … https://www.rollingstone.com/bts-k-pop-lgbtq-rights-advocacy-w520861 …

I'm sorry but how can you say that bts avoids political songs when those are one of their trademarks? and on the part where you quoted Suga, from this interview (https://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/inside-bts-mania-a-day-in-the-life-of-the-k-pop-superstars-w514229 … …) he was literally talking about how he was working on a political song?
-
I think you should listen to some of their overtly political songs, aka: Bapsae (talking about class struggles), Am I Wrong (literally quotes a korean minister who called the population dogs and pigs), not to mention political undertones in so many of their songs.
-
this is also a good read on how they are not afraid of touching taboo topics, even in a conservative countryhttps://twitter.com/RollingStone/status/1001523922897178624 …

also here are some good translations for the songs I mentioned, since some things do get lost in translation sometimes. also spring day as bonus (the mv is political); Bapsae: https://muish.wordpress.com/2015/12/06/bts-baepsae-english-translation-ramblings/ … … Am I wrong: https://muish.wordpress.com/2016/10/23/bts-am-i-wrong-english-translation-and-ramblings/ … … Spring Day:https://byeoltan.tumblr.com/post/157313625223/did-you-know …

I'm seriously thinking of becoming a journalist just to put these people out of their jobs since so many clearly don't care about their work and can't do their jobs properly.
-
Anyways, Rolling Stone writers > New Yorker writers

She mostly copied another article that came out earlier. I remember Armies criticized it a lot they gave an insincere apology and made superficial modifications. She was obviously
“inspired” so she copied a bit. I think they are trying to outrage armies for the attention. -
Ah... well, this article could've gotten way more likes if it was actually well written so the joke is on them in the end.
