Because a co-op that has no customers won't go bankrupt from lack of shoppers unlike a privately owned business? I hate Capitalism too, but a bunch of co-op's are not going to really fix anything in the grand scheme of things.

I thought Forgiveness was in order - no fees or acts for nonpayment (during emergency) if rent/mortgage. Food, meds, gas trump rent/debt payments! Pay rent off when back to work.

Actually, cooperativism isn't state communism - it's the ownership of specific businesses by the people who work in them, not by central govt.... A much better alternative which empowers ordinary people. And capitalism is showing its weak side just at present.
