Ditto PolSci and history profs. Dred Scott was a big deal in both my US history and PolSci classes, as it should have been. In law school, my profs never touched it. Or Plessy.

I concur! Maybe law professors should prepare, consider co-teaching The Scott case with Black constitutional lawyers, consider bringing in actors to read the Taney’s remarks. But not teaching it serves whites washes the American Constitution, law & history.

If they were truly proud of this history, they’d erect statues and “reenact” these cases every weekend. They embrace ignorance to avoid having to explain to the people that keep voting for them why they never actually do anything to help them
