    I just buy a Roomba 966. I am very impress by its capabilities as a truly practical robotic system. BTW , what kind of v-slam do you use on it ? Is it keypoint based ? Do you fuse wheel odometry data for robust positioning ?

    For my RN_DEN network I will replace the Batch Normalization with SELU (Scaled Expenonential Linear Unit) for self normalization network training. I would like to train my network in a incremental fashion using SGD (batch size = 1).

    I think I will try to build a robot actuator using an abacus drive create by the SRI. It's an high efficiency gearbox aim for transparent torque control.

    I try an other low cost actuator design with a cycloidal drive. This is only a test; you can see there is no ball bearing or screw. The ration is 10:1 and radius is approx 75mm.

    This is a rough sketch of DynaQuad quadruped robot. This is only the skeleton; there is no sensor (encoder / IMU) nor controller. I hope to build one day this kind of high performance robot. But for know I will focus on the perception part with an other robot (tank-like).

    An improve version of my DynaQuad actuator. I use an 60 teeths Banebot "stock" P80 ring gear, which create a 7:1 ratio with the new planet (25T) and new sun (10T). I have just some concern about the strengh of the sun gear (module 0.8, PA = 20° and 10 teeth).

    I am working on a semi-direct drive BLDC actuator for robotics application. The DynaQuand actuator feature a 8:1 planetary gearbox (module 0.5; PA 20°), a multistar high torque BLDC motor and a CUI encoder. I hope one day i could build this actuator...
