I think terms such as "accepted", "enough", "sufficient", "established" both in +/- sense aren't useful. They aren't scientific descriptions themselves, yet, if they come from a field authority, they can lead to entire lines of research either living forever or dying prematurely

In a crisis, we turn to real-time
#openscience.@bubela_tania mused: if we know secrecy/patent-driven science cannot deliver when it really matters, why do our innovation policies endorse it? No enhancement in survival, progression to severe dementia & worsened amyloid angiopathy after extensive plaque removal for up to 14 years via Aβ vaccine. Pulls together nicely several themes we've been discussing for the past few years. The current model of publication and correspondence by journal is a 19th century construct. To truly deliver change, the whole model needs to more open, agile and adaptive.https://twitter.com/Neuronologist1/status/1222002645466066946 …

Day was capped off by a visually stunning talk from Marcus Fandrich covering the latest in what cryo EM has revealed about the structure of amyloids. Basic takeaway, what we recreate in mice or in a dish is often literally the polar opposite of what is happening in humans.pic.twitter.com/4JxxECFT3l
