  3. Just caught up with 's lovely write-up of Juniper's NXTWORK conference back in November. I personally did five exams there (passed three!), and attended GREAT talks on Segment Routing, Contrail, and much more.

Occasionally I get asked by people looking to get certifications what the best "dumps" are. I have a conversation with them on why that is the wrong approach. I finally put together a blog on the topic "Dump the dumps".

Of all the conferences I attend every year, is my absolute favorite. Check out fellow Ambassador on his blog where he provides a fantastic summary about the 2019 NXTWORK event -

  10. NEW BLOG! Recently I passed the JNCIP-ENT, Juniper's professional-level Enterprise cert. In this new post I've rounded up a ton of books and websites that will help you study for it too.

  12. I passed Juniper's JNCIP-ENT exam today. 2nd attempt after failing by 2% in November. Oh BOY that exam is no joke. Really challenging, very satisfying. Definitely going to write a blog post to help other folks study for it.

  13. By the way I've read every single word in all of those books, and I know all the facts in them off by heart. I can also do 20,000 push-ups, I speak 16 languages, and I invented the telephone.

  14. Nice! This is a big deal. RPKI is a way for BGP speakers to check that people aren't lying when they claim to own an IP range. Well worth reading up on it if you've not heard of it before.

  15. This nice shiny slab of glass came in the post today, and suddenly my JNCIE actually feels real. (Also, they called me Christopher, which just makes me feel like I'm in trouble.)

New plates came in the mail. It’s true, there are two other people in the world who also have five JNCIEs, but I’m the only person in all of Virginia to have these plates. 😂👍

  19. When studying CCNP etc you read that RADIUS combines authentication and authorization, whereas TACACS+ separates them. Wasn't clear to me why this was important, but this article explains clearly the differences between the two authentication protocols.

Unlike AireOS, the Cat9800 keeps all old IOS-XE versions in flash as you upgrade over time. At some point you will run out of space in bootflash:. You can easily remove the old, unused images with a single command: “install remove inactive”.
