*psst* C’mere. Though I didn’t explicitly state it, “creators don’t owe you more than the published work itself” also means — listen closely now — really internalize this one — CREATORS DON’T OWE YOU A FINISHED SERIESpic.twitter.com/B1s0Dahncs

Neil Gaiman covered this literally a decade ago by coining the incredible phrase “George R.R. Martin is not your bitch” and yet we have not internalized it.

AS i have grown older and almost wiser, i have learned to grow more detached from the things i love. And even more so from the opinions of others about it. I still stumble...it's still too easy for me to get pissed off about SW...but i get better at it every day.

I really gotta work on that bit about attachment to others opinions about the things I love, especially before I see then. Almost ruined Love, Death + Robots for me

My nephew would get mad at his sister for "not doing it right" when playing with his toys. He grew out of it. He's 10.

I’m currently working on a character that I hope one day someone else will want to take on their own journey. That’d be an awesome legacy.

This is such a great article and says everything I’ve been feeling about this age of fan petitions. There is a fundamental misunderstanding of what the creators do and are there to do. At the end of the day these are just pieces of fiction, people forget that.

It's such an easy thing to get sucked into and start to believe. And once you have that echo chamber, it's easy to start to justify your own actions, regardless of how abhorrent they are, because you're "The good guy."

I felt the same way about Thor comics that you did about Batman comics, and then Marvel's direction for the character became so awful and pissed me off so much I realized I needed to stop. I haven't read a Thor comic since 2014, and my love for the character is still as strong

as it ever was. When they finally get the writer I hate off of his books, I may give Thor comics another try. Until then, it's better for me to just not engage and reread the stuff I do love
