I can't imagine doing this for anything beyond a hobby. Like how do you not live in constant anxiety knowing you can literally lose everything at any second because some idiot decides to film a dead boy or shout racial slurs.

Just to clarify, I wouldn't be mad if they demonetized smaller channels in an attempt to stop scams as this update alleges. But this is clearly a response to worthless ass @LoganPaul, and the fact that he gets a slap on wrist while smaller folks suffer is a joke.

YouTube has been on shaky ground since it started and it only gets worse every year. It's been nearly impossible to get your stuff out there without luck or props from a larger channel. Having stricter requirements on smaller channels just harms the site and weakens its appeal.

But that's the great thing about monopolies, innit. No one can rise up and stop YouTube so they can do what they please. Again, if this were actually to stop scams, I wouldn't complain. Wouldn't be happy either but at least it'd serve *some* purpose.
