As of about 3pm ET (19:00 UTC) today YouTube has started to abbreviate subscriber counts via the api. Right now it seems to be hit or miss which channels have exact numbers & which ones don't. Reading through this again I realise I may have jumped the gun a bit. Or well, a lot, but I'm only human. Though it's no secret YouTube is slowly obscuring data more and more

YouTube definitely loves to manipulate. Abbreviating sub counts makes that easier.

Actually that’s false. Those systems are independent. For one thing many larger channels that have been hit with demonetization that DON’T make edgy content have confirmed that it’s not the CAUSE. Also most creators fail to realize ADSENSE existed before YT and has a diff team

I already posted a follow up saying that I jumped the gun. Though I have seen quite a bit of evidence to the contrary, from smaller creators(<1 mil subs) at least. Strangely enough mostly animation review and anti-hate activism channels...
