Got a message from a friend who said they wore a mask for 10 mins yesterday & nearly passed out. I fear that mandatory mask wearing will kill people. Many with breathing probs who should not be wearing masks will feel compelled to wear due to #masksnitch pressure. It’s all wrong.

I'm an asthmatic, was a welder for 20 years in heavy fabrication and wore an FFP3 mask every day, on fabrications often preheated to 200°C or more. Never passed out once. I really don't get this.

Both sides of this debate have valid points. There has to be some middle ground.

Being forced to wear a mask is a valid point when discussing freedom and basic human rights?

Sorry Neil you are wrong we have been wearing our N99 washable filter masks for shopping since coming our of self isolation in late April, AND will continue to do so until #Covid19UK settles down (if ever) How come Surgeons, Doctors and Nurses don't die from wearing masks?

Your experience is not everybody's . I have reduced lung capacity and I cannot wear a mask for longer than a few minutes , thereby proving to my own complete satisfaction that the mask is reducing oxygen intake .

I felt pressured into wearing one in minor injuries recently and it was horrific. We humans are naturally compliant, especially when we are confronted by either authority or mob rule. Ive bought myself an exempt badge to hopefully avoid further pressure

Horrific? Wearing a thin mask in hospital to protect everyone? You should try wearing an FFP3 mask, visor and gown for 12.5 hours in intensive care whilst you look after patients dying and not able to see their family. That’s horrific. Perspective is important

Sorry, can't agree with that I wore one nearly all day, on Monday A hospital appointment then shopping in Newport. It was a warm sunny day, and I've suffered covid. If I can damn well do it, the so can the bloody rest of you. I have no complaints if it saves even just one life.

You do know that surgical masks are not meant to be worn for prolonged periods? And of course you have looked at all the research that either says thy are ineffective, may impact on health or provide minimal protection.
