You see this is what happens when you accept funds from wrong people or have idiots on your board member. But this is not exclusive to the New Centre. Land is canceled so if you are a publisher and have a major distributor, the distributor won't distribute that book.

It certainty isn't exclusive but that's no excuse. It's like their first (and probably easiest) test to stand up for their principles and immediately failed at the first sign of trouble.

I know and that's regrettable. But you just can't imagine the amount of pressure that an institute or a publisher should tolerate before it is decimated into oblivion. For what? For someone who doesn't even recognize the sacrifices you have made and the ruin you've incurred?

If the entire purpose of the institution is intellectual inquiry then the "for what" would be the integrity of that institution. There are always antagonistic forces, just as there are people more likely to respect those who stand up against them.

No, that's not the entire aim of an educational institution. The aim is diverse. it should promote the growth of promising instructors and students. Should give them some means of survival. All things considered should be the slogan.

All goals harmed by dogmatism and strengthened by freedom of thought.

Freedom of thought come with an expense. Are you ready to incur the cost?

The costs are minimal when considering the mindless alternatives.

Sure for individuals it might be as not everyone is getting executed like Socrates. But that's not the case with non-profit institutions where you have donors, board memebers and all the structuring constraints.

Also the freedom of thought is too fuzzy to be helpful. Do you allow a person to teach creationism in your school? I personally don't.

So it comes down to the catch22 of education. You want some mechanisms in place to create free collective education to challenge dogmas and you also need mechanism to ensure the sustainability of the said project.
