Welcome to the shitscape of education. This is the hard problem and you can't bypass it by moaning or saying all institutions are evil.

It's not a hard problem and people have bypassed it. You just lack ambition, lamenting supposedly immutable facts of academia when there are more tools than ever to solve these hurdles.

Individual people can bypass it but if you want a systematic approach to education, you need a system for supporting newcomers and not just yourself. You seem to be hung up on some sort of libertarian model which is too narrow for such purposes.

Indiscriminate hostility to all forms of institutions as gatekeepers almost always lands you on inefficacy both in scope and in mode of operation. The point is make new forms of institution not abandon them entirely.

Good thing I never expressed indiscriminate hostility to all forms of institutions, only to one institution in particular.

I said this, your problem is with the organizers, but the course programmers have done a good job to secure instructors and students. It's like you don't go to a school because you hate the dean.

No it's like not going to a school which claims to be for open minded independent thinkers that encourage freedom of inquiry but censor and reject any thought outside their narrow definition of these parameters.

I don't know what you experienced or when you took a course. Earlier time, it was admittedly malfunctioning on many levels. But I don't let these things happen in critical philosophy program, nor does Jason Mohaghegh in his program. My sincere apologies if you had to deal with it

I'm referring to them bending the knee and firing Land. Maybe the internal culture has grown a spine since then, I'll have to take your word for it.

You see this is what happens when you accept funds from wrong people or have idiots on your board member. But this is not exclusive to the New Centre. Land is canceled so if you are a publisher and have a major distributor, the distributor won't distribute that book.

In these cases, it's best to use your model.
