But so are Fitzcarraldo and Bad Lieutenant, for example, don't you think so? It's also true that the times change and same/similar methods can have very different effects. Metaphysical becomes sth cynical/pathetic... Certainly wouldn't reduce Herzog to a beautiful soul tho.
i.e. you can still be a hopeless romantic and someone who vomits at the sight of mawkish ridicule of impersonal methods.
