Harakiri is a film that comes from the future. Kobayashi's style of narration exceeds the usual logics of movies shot in the 60s. Unfortunately, an unfairly neglected director. Harakiri's final scene let you understand why John Wick is so poor.

Harakiri is potent. Watched it at Film Forum fifteen years ago - sitting straighter in my seat as the film tautened, until I was almost standing up. You've seen his Samurai Rebellion too, right? And his beautiful adaptation of Lafcadio Hearn's stories?

Very long time ago, a dubbed version on Iranian TV. Should rewatch so thanks for the reminder.

it was banned in many places. But it was also a great commercial success in many countries because of the cast.
