Revisiting Jean-Yves Girard's Transcendental Syntax. For the love of druj, can someone explain to me in a few sentences what a gabarit is? Is it like the choices Geist makes in navigating its history? @insurrealist @deontologistics

I remember this paper being helpful on the strategy of the TS program, but I don’t think I ever quite grasped what a gabarit was:https://www.academia.edu/10495057/On_Trascendental_syntax_a_Kantian_program_for_logic …

I remember you mentioned it to me when you were here. No it made the issue even more brain-exploding.

The basic idea is that both ludics and transcendental syntax try to find semantics implicit in the structure of proof syntax, but one focuses on sequent calculus, and the other proof nets. However, proof nets aren’t very intuitive.

"However, proof nets aren’t very intuitive." I feel I'm dying very hopelessly at this point.

I’ve never really gotten my head around them. They’re essentially a form of natural deduction, but without strict temporal ordering. I found a couple resources though.

Does this have anything to do with the suspension of global polarity and retaining local polarity instead (true concurrency) that Abrahmsky and Jagadeesan are talking about?

There are passages where he identifies gabarit in terms of context, distinct logical links, and local formula-dependency. This why I think he means something like Abramsky's suspension of global polarity when you get context-sensitivity, local interaction, etc.
