I used to stay at a friend's mansion overlooking the Bosphorus. There were editions of Kant from the fin de siecle. Wondered the owner of those. The answer was quite enlightening: Apparently, a Nazi defector officer was hiding there during the 50s. So, here I am.

I thought all nazis fled to South America. But re the Bosphorus: 2004, I hold the hand of my love and we go through the straight. Nothing, absolutely nothing is like the Bosphorus. If all oceans dry up, I won't shed one tear but not Bosporus.

Bosphorus cost me my youth. Each house I have inhabited were close, or direct enough. It's too bad you need to be SAS commando to be actually swimming in it. Some say they can still see Io galloping over it as an escape attempt from that gadfly.

Someday we shall swim in it, do some fishing and get arrested together.

Actually, we can swim. But, guys like would probably end up dead. I meant, so as to enjoy every floating inch of you need to be a marine. Fishing is still viable. If you wanna get arrested, kiss your lover in Bağcılar.

I'll ask my nephew to contact you. He is one cynical accelerationsist, currently stuck in Ankara.

I'd rather get stuck in Tehran than in Ankara. I am stuck in frigging Balıkesir.

Screw Ankara. Worse than the Balkanized countries circa 1918.

In Ankara, it's hard to escape existentialism. I could bear that village for 6 months only.

The only good thing about that hellhole is that you can get a cheap bus to Cappadocia.
