what's your preferred counter-argument to the chinese room
-
I have a page on it in I&S. The argument syntax is flawed on the ground that semantics is nothing but syntax in interaction. The Chinese room is a syntax manipulator and the environment, its interactions nods. Where else semantic emerges if not through interaction?

Chalmers is mostly the lesswong version of wiki-level neuroscience, but he has some great materials when he used to take stuff seriously.
