It is, but it is also just one set of weapons among others. fear is actually the least charged weapon. It's too psychologistic, the real weapons should be sought in the arsenals of impersonality.

Of course! It is but one cognitive weapon in a vast and yet unexplored arsenal.

Yes true But fear is always impersonality by the mundane psychic proxy. Much more interesting are those forces which are indifferent to psyche to begin with.

I agree. Though...i am not sure I understand what you mean by impersonality.

What is impersonal other than what is collectively rational? I know you might have a fit of cringe hearing this but I can explain this over Skype now that we are both in quarantine.

I see where you are coming from. But then isnt it the case that something that is "collectively rational" is less likely to be a source of (disruptive) cognitive weaponry? Skype sounds good.

No, not if you model that collectivity and rationality on interactionist / pragmatic models of rationalism. How about tomorrow 11am EST?

This "pragmatic models of rationalism" is Brandon, Wimsatt etc.? Yes?

More like a logico-computational paradigm of Brandom and Peirce. Pragmatism is only a good model to a certain degree, at some point--where ur-rationality kicks in--it becomes antiquated.

Yes of course...I forgot about Pierce. And also yes about the limits of the operational/ functional envelope of rationality...possible we may not be referring to the same thing though. Will be good to catch up!
