First episode of Westworld: superfluously futuristic, garish parametric aesthetics and a lot of bad casting.

I think I just don't like overly futuristic atmosphere when it comes to sci-fi movies, with books, it's fine. Futuristic visuals if not worked out on super high-budget always looks like these cheesy French sci-fi movies. Also Aaron Paul really doesn't belong to Westworld

For me the flying cars stuff blends well with stupidly flashy Singapore skyscrapers, but the rest of the tech we see isn't all that different from what we've seen in the previous seasons

Yeah the flying cars and those buildings. I'm sure it make Patrik Schumacher happy. There was a sense of minimalism in the first two season which this episode completely ruined. Too stuffy all around.

I guess they gave in to the popular opinion. The stuff about consciousness was replaced by flying cars and such shit.

I hope this gets rectified. They should also stay away from multiple worlds / races of the second season. This is not Lord of the Rings.
