Isolated from his larger thought, I take his points to be: 1.) The crisis will not in itself produce political change 2) To the extent it does, it will amount to a "changing of the guard" 3) Real alternatives for change are not apparent This seems, all in all, mostly correct.

His remarks about tech and social media are undeniably cranky but, still, contain a measure of good sense. Information technology has, at best, failed to live up to expectations as a producer of new political modalities, and has at worst done exactly what Badiou accuses it of.
