totally ok with people using whatever shit they want, but the fact that this coagulates into a culture is disgusting to me.

Why/how wouldn't it have a culture around it? Doesn't every practice and technology have some kind of culture around it? It's a plant which humans can use to manipulate their mental state, of course it would be connected to a culture; or, more precisely, to several ones.

But anyway of course you don't have to like any of them.

don't like the almost mandatory status that smoking it has in some of my social circles. it's almost like it's presupposed that you should use it. I find it annoying, and I don't even like it's effects on me. Much prefer clonazepam, which is my drug...

...that I don't expect anybody else to like as much. So, there you go. that sense of "culture". an almost mandatory behavioural etiquette.

Yeah that's stupid. People seem to assume that the same thing that they find good for them is going to be good for everyone. I know many ppl that just get anxiety, some of them who actually used to smoke and like it. So you really can't suppose anything about others.
