Climate in Arizona is much like Iraq or arid parts of Iran. I'm from Shiraz so we get the four seasons and the plants are very much similar to what I get here except the fruit trees.

In spring you get white truffles the size of a large apple. They were expensive back then, a kilo was running around 2-3 dollars. But at some point I managed to buy 10kg of white truffle and it was like 40 bucks. I think we consumed more truffle than the entire NYC in a year.
