Is this not why we are in the so called age of Katak? I was born in 1996 with what was to become a disabling anxiety disorder. That plus the climate of my whole life is what attracts me to that cute little Y2k study group.

Yes, I remember I got Kataked by an Iraqi mirage when I was in school. Imagine the plane flying on low altitude and fires a missile which you can see. That set me straight.

I am admittedly unsure if you are being sarcastic regarding "mirage". I just appreciate formalizing types of fear and panic into an external body, because that is something I can confront and assess. I apologize if I came across as implying anything.

Aha, whoops, I guess I need to pay more attention when my girlfriend is explaining aircraft to me.

I do see what you mean, now. I worry that I've spent all of my time on models for processing trauma from the past, that I would be useless in a live conflict. The issue incarnates as "get through the present, we will deal with the wounds later" which is a shitty band aid.

It would, after all, be better to avoid the wounds to begin with.

When you say "set you straight" -- and of course you dont have to answer this-- what do you mean? What did you shift from and to?

It gave me the clear picture of what happens to humans when they succumb to fear. There will be no pill or reason to calm them down. Once the disaster hits in earnest, they learn to become more logical I know this is a very sordid picture of humanity but I have witnessed that.

I think humanity is forged by its disasters. I see this as a good thing.

Yes, risk is the very engine of reason and enlightenment. But a lot fall for the terrifying consequences of the former.

I know. I'm a cold-hearted person tbh, I kinda forget people will be hurt from this.

I'm all for global meltdown, but do you want to see your loved ones perish before your eyes?
