While no one should overreact right now, I think the power of panic is vastly underestimated. It is the panic redline between life and death to which people ultimately rush. The memories of Iran-Iraq war are being resurfaced. Endless queues and hoarding can bring down any civ.

I can't tell if that's good or bad but it is reassuring. Something something resiliency. And i mean that's what I've seen in victims of prolonged child abuse, which is basically my only point of reference.

My biggest worry in the states is our every-man-for-himself attitude. So in that vein, I know there's not a lot I can do as a recluse in texas for y'all online, but I'd like people to feel like they can reach out to me in the face of pandemic panic.
