I personally think British dry humor is great, but sometimes it feels like swallowing a mouthful of bandages. Middle Eastern humor on the other hand is twisted, sinister and extremely unpredictable.

Agreed. The ME humor is just the mundane fact of life which is the butt of all jokes. But yes, there are some serious humorists: Obeid e Zakani , Avicenna (yes that doctor of doctors), Ali Akbar Dehkhoda, et al
