I remember on my old site forum back in the early 2000s. Someone said something that you're making stuff up. The answer was 'Cops are here.' It did work though back then.

In all seriousness, I think there is a fundamental pathos about such claims: Cops are here, muslims are invading our country, africans stealing our wives and lives, X is doing some nasty thing to us. It's easy to come off as authentic by pushing aside the challenge and criticism.
