Ballard is too monotonic for my taste even tho I love Applied Ballardianism and some of Ballard's own short stories. Delany is ok but he gets too tortous at points. Sturgeon's stories are ok but his fame is mostly due to introducing the soviet sci-fi to western readers.

Reza! Reza! Delany is much more than ok. I mean Dhalgren is just incredible and some of his theory-laden sf&f works are dear to my soul (the fisrt part of stars in my pocket i think is the greatest scifi i've ever read, what about Neveryon??) And his non-scifi stuff, like hogg

I know. Not being able to read Heinlein properly is one my many shortcomings in life (tbh, i only read a bit of starship troopers and 2-3 first chapters of double star. Couldn't stand either). In the old days enjoyed his shorter works though, like They, or green hills of earth.

No no, read The man who sold the moon, then the moon is the harshest mistress, then star beast. Do I need to take you through this?
