Cybernetics? Does anyone actually use it? It's like talking about transistors compared to AI and computer science. Most probably there are still some dads who are interested in Radio innards.

My take on this is fairly programmer-y. The origins of high-level programming languages are in system simulations and symbolic AI, but maybe these not really cybernetics? Notable that OOP uses cellular signaling as system metaphor, although this may be somewhat impressionistic

The simulation factor is very important. It's the moment that a better simulation invariance yields a better schema for framing how different systems at different levels widely interact with different systems or mechanism at different levels. OOP is unfortunately impressionistic.
