Cybernetics? Does anyone actually use it? It's like talking about transistors compared to AI and computer science. Most probably there are still some dads who are interested in Radio innards.

Hi Reza, I have a question. I'm distant enough from my old cybernetics work to not need to defend its obvious weaknesses / false narratives, but want to give its due. My question: what validity do you think the "systems philosophy" / philosophy of technology parts have?

The "comment" part of the question: the attention to organization and broader information ontology still have things to offer imo (especially on ecology), and thats even after I've mostly moved onto way different philosophy questions

Systems theory and by that I mean what we currently understand and not some old Bertalanffy stuff is quite a diverse field. But with diversity comes the lack of specificity. My thought is that these are all necessary but we should recognize their limits.

The most challenging conceptual issues re complexity and interaction are only slowly beginning to surface in these fields. They are the most important topics when it comes to climate or social sciences.
