    Fixing that is what I most like about the Great Books tradition: approaching a work humbly, with the basic attitude that most books have something to offer if you put in the effort, is a prerequisite to most learning. That's as true about Butler as it is about Aristotle. /end

    I quite often have fretful sleep where I keep waking up feeling frustratingly close to solving some problem, only to wake up and realise that my friend is not a diagram in a category and so of course I would struggle to figure out their limit.

    I remember waking up from a dream once and taking a solid five minutes or so to realize that people are—in fact—not polynomials, and therefore this simple approach to that social problem I was in, would not work.
