Grey-headed Canary Flycatcher a regular in Tat Mok NP Phetchabun a nippy little bird that is often quite confiding. This one kept checking me out, albeit from a nice shady spot!

Abbott's Babbler (Malacocincla abbotti olivacea) Always surprised at how many pairs in secondary growth locations all over the city. Identified presumed male & female based on vocalisation. Presumed male Post 1, female Post 2

White-Eye: Chinese according to my new bird book but confusingly also referred to as Japanese, anyway sub-species japonicus simplex I think. A winter visitor here and still calling into the garden most days.

Common Flameback(F) the only woody I saw at Nam Nao NP yesterday, it's normally teeming! Mind you very dry and cool conditions at the moment.

At Nam Nao NP today. Poor birding in lovely cool weather. However I had a great encounter with this Red Billed Blue Magpie which I think was a juvenile. We shared a sandwich & a cool drink of water. Why juvenile? It was begging food from me like its parents.

Grey-backed Shrike another zoomed in image to show the tomial tooth on the upper mandible and the awsome "talons" on this bird. The "Tomial Tooth" is used to help Shrikes break their preys necks. Found in falcons too.

Possible Brown-streaked Flycatcher (Muscicapa williamsoni) This bird is browner that nominate Asian Brown Flycatcher, has a pale buff eye ring (Wells), some pale brown streaks on breast/flanks. Opinions welcome.
