I was never a GTA collector, but I have to collect this stuff. I don't have a shelf where I showcase these items or anything like that. Everything I have is stuffed in the closet in bags or boxes. But why is that?
Well, there are lots of people around the globe, who have something interesting to trade like rare GTA releases or other press materials I am interested in. I can't buy them, because most of them want to have a "rare" item in return.
Sometimes, they don't see anything interesting in my pseudo collection and the trade doesn't happen. While I am searching for the item they want, they make a deal with someone else.
I have to "collect" rare items just to use them as a trade coin having no joy in doing that. I am not interested in the GTA memorabilia so much, but if I see a decent offer, I will take it. Sometimes I help other close people to get the items they want.
I am more interested in the press kits, booklets, brochures, rare releases... This is something where I can look for the information and use it in a video.
But it was always a lottery. The magazine might not have anything interesting in the article. The rare re-release might be just a copy. The press assets might contain known or lame stuff. Lots of stuff was either disappeared or hoarded by someone, who stays in the shadows.
The sad thing is, since the pandemic, the prices skyrocketed and it became more and more harder to get the items I want. Less interesting magazines, less interesting press materials and etc. It is like this stuff just disappeared.
