Yup, worked for me as well. I had the physical complete edition, which had 2 codes, one for IV and one for the Episodes. Wonder if the Episodes code can be activated again separately to gain another copy of Complete Edition... 
Well, it works now... at least on social club page. https://socialclub.rockstargames.com/activate It seems, that you can easily buy a used copy for a dirt cheap price and activate it on this page. At least mine key was used in the past.https://twitter.com/NationalPepper/status/1242553622589833218 …

i already had GTA IV AND EFLC on steam but my keys from the retail version did worked on the rockstar games launcher

actually it worked perfectly...never expected that would happened. I thought my retail keys will be a waste but IT WORKED. THANK YOU

I've had 2 keys one was GTA IV and EFLC. I gave IV and they gave Complete Edition which was cool, so I gave EFLC key to my brother and voila it became a Complete Edition..COOL

Do you know where i can retrieve my steam key? Bought it directly in steam and cant show my key anywhere, not in the purchase history or the confirmation mail form back then. Before patch i think you could just read it out in steam directly.. :/
