Did they lower the requirement here or is it just for the US? When I ordered a phone from China a few years back, they told me import fees only apply to items above 45€
It is always a nightmare for me to order stuff from US. If the value of the item exceeds $24 I have to pay the import tax.
Funny thing is, http://Amazon.com counts shipping costs too, but eBay doesn't.
On the other hand, eBay Global Shipping program has insane prices.

They usually ship items as "gifts" that's why the fee is added around $49. Official stores won't ever declare goods as gifts unless you have an agreements with a private seller. http://muitaspaligs.lv
