Go from Americans to likely voters and you're in the minority. Stay with Americans and you realize it closely parallels the number who pay taxes vs. the number who take taxes. Yes, this did not work for Mitt, but I am not candidate. I am a guy who tells it like he sees it.https://twitter.com/mmurraypolitics/status/1102587046617600001 …

Latest NBC/WSJ poll shows the public wants a more active government. And, by a slim 50%-49% margin, Americans back higher taxes so everyone can have health insurance. But "socialism" is a step too far, especially with the middle of the electorate https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/meet-the-press/how-socialism-plays-poorly-middle-electorate-n978861 …

Everyone likes higher taxes if they aren’t paying them. If 17% of federal expenditures are used to cover 34% of the population, and the current Medicare tax is 2.9% but only covers half of the cost, and prescriptions for only some, how much to cover everybody? 17/.34/.5 +

Mitt shouldn’t have apologized/back track. He was right and should have made the argument. Republican candidates seems to have handlers that have no idea what ppl (especially voters that might vote for them) actually care about and how they think.
