    this day in 1969, black students protested about racial discrimination at Sir George Williams aka Concordia Univ. Computer lab ignited in flames, and the white citizens of Montreal yelled, "Let the Ni***rs Burn!" as students were arrested.

    We ought to consider the architecture & structural /spatial design of inclusion and who feels welcome on college campuses when there are so many portraits like this in boardrooms & uni buildings. Just an example, I don’t know who this is but it sends a msg ab belonging and 💰.

    A tiny thread regarding my first few thoughts on 's new book. She describes how the bodies of Black women had multilayered meanings and stood in for various things, like discussions of keeping Europe white. These ideas are ever present today. 1/n
